Where Did My Journey Into Self Development Begin?

Where Did My Journey Into Self Development Begin?

Over twenty years ago I was passed a cassette tape and a book by a colleague of mine in the Life Assurance industry, in which I was working at the time. The cassette tape was of Earl Nightingale's radio broadcast "The Strangest Secret," recorded before I was born and the book was Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich," also in existence before I was born. Since that time I have listened to that cassette and many others like it many times, the book I now know to be a classic and my copy is beginning to fall apart with fare wear and tear.

I consider myself to be well educated in Personal Development now, but often the theory whilst inspirational and exciting, without the subsequent actions that these Self Development teachers encourage us to take, is like having a car but never taking it out for a drive! One man who did take the information "out for a drive" is Bob Proctor., when as a young man back in 1960 both Earl Nightingale and Napoleon Hill's work became known to him.

Bob was a fireman earning what was then a respectable $4,000 a year, but was himself $6,000 in debt and desperate to improve his situation in life. He not only read Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" which was based on the research Hill had done interview 504 of the wealthiest people in the United States, but Bob started to implement the strategies that the book taught.

Within a year he had personal income of of $100,000 and within a short period of time, he secured work with Earl Nightingale who became his personal mentor. Bob is now 74 years of age a multi-millionaire who has gone on to mentor and teach many other people who are now millionaires or multi-millionaires themselves. Bob has an amazing way of communicating the information he has personally put into practice for almost fifty years.

When I'm 74, I'd love to have not only the same passion, the same ability to inspire and challenge people to create the life they long for, but also something that mesmerizes me when I see Bob the amazing twinkle in his eye!

Below please find a link to a video that Bob has recently recorded, which I believe could be the inspiration that turns the current economic downturn on it's head. When you've watched it please let me know what you think about it, email me at "andrew@gistli.co.uk" and I'll personally send you a pdf copy of Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich."

Hannah Scott's Testimonial about my 20 TOP TIPS of how to RECESSION PROOF YOUR MIND

Hannah Scott's Testimonial about my 20 TOP TIPS of how to RECESSION PROOF YOUR MIND

The Music Life Coach's 20 top tips have really given me a new lease of life. I feel much more in control and instead of waiting for things to happen, I have the confidence to go out there and get them.

I have spent far too much time thinking about what life would be like if and when I achieve my goal and in doing so, I forget that life is happening now. The 20 Top Tips have reminded me that the journey is just as important as the destination.

I am also much more aware that my journey is made of small steps rather than one massive leap from the unknown to stardom and it is down to me to plan which steps I take and when, to get me closer to my goal! Above all, I feel a million times more driven and this can only help me achieve what I am setting out to do. Thank you!

Recession Proof Your Mind!

I was talking to a friend on Friday evening, who was saying that he has stopped listening to BBC Radio 5 Live (the 24 hour news and sport station) because he is "totally fed up of hearing about the recession." He also told me how much he wishes he could hear some good news each day as he travels to work. That got me thinking! :)

It seems to me that I live a very privileged life because I get to talk to people everyday about things that inspire and motivate both them and me. For the past three years now the main focus of my thinking has been Personal Development, Human Excellence and Life Coaching. I'm either studying these subjects or I'm talking with someone about them.

This means of course that I am very well equipped to help those who want to stop feeling depressed or fed up with all the negative news that comes our way each day; that is if we are willing to open up our minds to what the media has to offer, i.e. doom and gloom!

When I'd been Life Coaching for a few months, we went out with some friends to a lovely local country pub and they were talking about all the bad stuff in the news and how they felt helpless to do anything about the problems that were going on back them. In fact they were laying blame with the world leaders, the government, the local council etc.

I will admit to having been drawn into the conversation for a little while, then I realized how pointless this kind of talk is. Whatever is happening in the world it is highly unlikely that we will be able to change anything on a global scale, but that doesn't absolve us of giving to charity; but to talk for hours and get upset even angry about something we have no control over is a waste of breath and energy.

There are lives that we can make a difference in, the lives of our friends, family, neighbors, work colleagues and most especially ourselves! There are too many people who don't seem to smile, never mind laugh. If half the energy we use in complaining, being grumpy and blaming all and sundry, whilst getting angry, upset and even depressed, was used to make our own lives and the lives of those around us a little more sweet. Methinks, the world would be a far better place! :)

So I've prepared 20 TIPS (in Word Document and MP3 format) of how to recession proof your mind and help you to keep positive throughout the coming year. If you would like me to send them to you, please send me an email to "andrew@gistli.co.uk" with the title "Recession Proof My Mind" in the subject box.

The first seven tips are totally FREE and should you decide to continue to receive the remaining tips the cost is £7, which can be paid via paypal, internet banking transfer, by cheque or by credit or debit card, instructions will be given to you as you are nearing the end of receiving the FREE tips.

Wishing you a truly happy New Year!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here in the UK we don't have a "Thanksgiving Day," it really is a great shame! :(

I remember our friend Norman saying to us when we were in LA, that "Thanksgiving" is a wonderful celebration to have, because it isn't based on any religious festival; which means, that everyone can celebrate and of course be thankful! :)

I'm thankful (like you I'm sure you are) every day for so many things, but in the spirit of the occasion I would say today: I am thankful for Anne, for my family and friends, for my clients, for music, for those who challenge and encourage me and the wonderful calling I have as someone who can inspire others.

Happy Thanksgiving to us all! :)
